New plan to deal with problem students

An action plan for WA schools to deal with aggressive and unruly kids has been revealed as part of a crackdown on school violence.

Public school students who assault teachers, attack another student, instigate fights or use their mobile device to record an altercation rather than call for help will receive punishments from attending school events, suspension or expulsion.

Education Minister Sue Ellery told Gareth Parker that the numbers show there are increasing incidents of violence in schools and increasing incidents of violence against staff and teachers as well.
