6PR Breakfast with Gareth Parker

Monday - Friday 5:30am-9:00am

If it’s happening in Perth, you’ll hear about it first on 6PR Breakfast with Gareth Parker.

Wake up each weekday with 6PR Breakfast for the very latest breaking news, opinions, interviews, weather, sport, finance, entertainment – and, of course, your calls.

Gareth is an award-winning journalist who takes over Breakfast in 2021 after a successful four-year, agenda-setting run on Mornings.

6PR listeners were the first to hear Gareth break dozens of stories, including the bizarre attempted sale of Perth Glory to crypto-currency scammers.

He was nominated for a Walkley award after revealing BHP had been systematically underpaying its mining royalties to the state government for years.

Gareth started his career in newspapers, working at The West Australian for 13 years covering state politics, local government and three years as the paper’s Melbourne correspondent.

Gareth is married to Elizabeth and they are the proud parents to son Henry and black labrador Charlie.

The iconic Rumour File after 7am gives listeners the chance to anonymously spill the beans and break the news, and also win weekly prizes, plus the annual grand prize.
