Kooza finale cancelled
Cirque Du Soleil’s Kooza had a popular and praised run in Perth, but the final performances, on Sunday afternoon and evening, were cancelled at the last minute according to 6PR listeners.
Multiple listeners and called in and posted on 6PR’s social media to say they waited in a line for over an hour only to be handed a note to say the performance had been cancelled due to technical difficulties.
One caller had said she wanted a refund for her parking from Perth Racing.
Cirque Du Soleil later told 6PR there was an electrical problem at the Big Top that was unable to be fixed in time for the final performances and refunds will be provided:
‘It is distressing when we have to cancel shows, especially because it involves disappointing our audiences,’ said the Company Manager for KOOZA. ‘There is unfortunatley no option to move patrons into alternative shows as these were our final two performances in Perth before Kooza leaves Australia. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment experied by our fans.’
Patrons who purchased tickets through the Cirque du Soleil website, Ticketek, Ticketmaster, Lastix, and Smartix will be automatically refunded on the credit card used for the purchase. Patrons who purchased tickets elsewhere should contact the relevant point of sale.
