Josh Kennedy’s thoughts on the jumper punch

The jumper punch has come under the microscope in recent weeks in the AFL and with Tom Hawkins’ suspension this week, the players have to watch their actions.

West Coast Eagles’ Josh Kennedy told Steve and Baz on 6PR Breakfast that the players just have to be cautious when it comes to roughing up the opposition.

“The jumper punch is something that has been around for many years but obviously the boys are probably going a bit too hard at it and that’s why there’s been questions thrown around it.

“It’s what the AFL are doing now so you’ve just got to be mindful and got to be careful now. You can’t go with too much force while you’re holding the jumper, so it’s just something the players have got to adjust to,” Kennedy said.
