Australia’s ‘talking clock’ service is about to go quiet.

For the past 66 years, you could get the exact time by dialing 1194 from anywhere around the country.

That service will cease from September 30.

The service is run by Melbourne company Informatel. Informatel’s executive chairman Dennis Benjamin told Gareth Parker, they’re disappointed with how the shutdown is being handled by Telstra.
