Liam Barlett again called out the Child Protection Minister Simone McGurk for never being available to come on the show, following another case where a grandma has come forward where the Department of Communities failed to act.

A grandma told Liam Bartlett her seven-year-old grandson with Down Syndrome was lucky to be alive after being found weighing just nine kilograms.

The boy had to spend a month in Perth Children’s Hospital.

“It all began back in June where we saw a photo of him that was quite disturbing, it didn’t even look like him, he was really thin, I started calling DCP, also my other daughter and another member of the family who is a psychologist also started calling them over a period of months and nothing was done,” she said.

“My niece sent in photos and an email of concern and they came back with we have reviewed it with the board and see that no further action needs to be taken.”

Teena* told Liam Bartlett she then went to the Home Schooling Association for help.

“They themselves took 11 weeks to get to him,” she said.

“The doctor said he was about two to three weeks off dying.

“I still feel sick when I think that if I hadn’t of called, he probably would’ve been dead.”
