Will Pokemon Go be banned from WA schools next week?

Article image for Will Pokemon Go be banned from WA schools next week?

Nature Play WA CEO, Griffin Longley, believes children caught up in the Pokemon Go phenomenon would be better off leaving their devices at home, when school goes back next week.

Tens of thousands of West Australians are hooked on the latest Nintendo app, that sees gamers walking for kilometres around Perth and regional WA, in an attempt to catch Pokemon.

An Education Department spokesperson said every individual school has a mobile phone policy, and that the department probably wouldn’t be aware of any problems until school resumes next week.

Gary Adshead spoke to Griffin Longley on the 6PR Morning Program about the new fad.
