Who is more likely to have a peanut allergy?

Research in Melbourne has revealed children from urban areas are more likely to have a nut allergy then those from rural regions.
Professor Katie Allen was part of the research team that has worked over 10 years with 57,000 participants and talks Peter Bell through the results in 6PR’s Afternoons program.
‘What we found was children who were born in Asia and migrated later were actually protected from peanut and tree nut allergies, so what that suggests is they have a protective factor in Asia.’
