Western Australia may be next to introduce digital licences

Article image for Western Australia may be next to introduce digital licences

A Word on the Street revealed that the state government will announce in the budget that WA drivers will have access to a digital licence through the ServicesWA app.

ServiceGen Founder Victor Dominello told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live, “When you’ve got a drivers licence that has 85 per dent adoption of the population and about 92 or 93 per cent satisfaction scores, that is an overwhelming success.

“I’ve got no doubt in my mind, that if designed properly in WA, you can leap frog the nation on this, and be a real-world leader.

“If you digitise a plastic card and all it’s credentials with modern design thinking where privacy and personal control is at the centre, you can significantly enhance security and privacy settings for the people of WA,” Mr Dominello continued.
