There’s a feud brewing from West Perth all the way to Joondalup, with a name change on the cards for WAFL club the Falcons.

A West Perth supporters lunch at Arena Joondalup on Monday was told that continued sponsorship from the City of Joondalup may come with the condition of a name change to reflect the current location of the club.

West Perth moved from Leederville Oval to Arena Joondalup for the 1994 WAFL season, and despite members voting in 2003 to change the name to the Joondalup Falcons, the change was never enacted.

But passionate supporter and member Paul Murray has told Gary Adshead it may be time to link the club to it’s location and junior clubs by changing the name.
