Another major, game-changing musical event is making it’s way to Australia, but once again Perth is missing out.

Paul McCartney is bringing his Got Back tour to Australia, heading to such lauded, high-class locations as Newcastle and the Gold Coast, but once again WA is not on the list.

High-profile, WA-based events promoter John Zaccaria told Karl and Gena on 6PR Breakfast the excessive costs of bringing major acts to the state.

“Things like trucking across the Nullarbor these days is incredibly expensive, and Paul McCartney’s probably got about 100 trucks on the road,” Mr Zaccaria said.

“It’s something you can’t get around; these shows are so big that if you’re coming this way you want to do a couple of big stadium shows.

“If you’re coming to Perth there’s only one real chance for that, and there’s a lot of financial risk for them and for the promoters.”
