WA records 2137 new cases, on track to hit 10,000

WA Chief Health Officer Andy Robertson said WA was on track to hit the predicted peak of 10,000 cases per day later in March as the state recorded 2137 new cases of COVID-19 overnight, bringing the total number of active cases to 9660.
There are now 21 people in hospital, but none in intensive care.
Of the 2137 cases, 1347 were confirmed via PCR test and the remaining 790 were self-reported positive rapid antigen tests.
A total of 14,553 PCR tests were conducted at either state-run or private pathology clinics yesterday.
