A father and son who had been facing an uphill battle to get home to Western Australia have been given good news after their G2G passes were finally approved.

Donald Msapanda has travelled to South Australia to meet his teenaged son, who had been in Victoria.

They had been rejected numerous times after applying since early December.

But yesterday, after his story was aired on 6PR Breakfast, he received a phone call and their G2G passes were accepted.

“Let’s just say things are like night and day from yesterday, things are really looking up for my son and me,” he told 6PR Breakfast this morning.

“It’s good news for us: we are coming home.”

He said they are booking flights for tomorrow and will go into quarantine.
