‘Gilly’ recalls life lesson in stirring tribute to WA cricket legend Rod Marsh

Tributes have flowed on 6PR for Australian cricket legend Rod Marsh, 74, who died in Adelaide today after suffering a heart attack in Bundaberg last Thursday.
They were led by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, as well as former Australian captain Kim Hughes and one of the country’s greatest cricketers and Marsh protégé, Adam Gilchrist.
Very sad to hear of the passing of Rod Marsh. As a kid he was my favourite player. He was part of one of the most exciting eras in Australian and world cricket. He will be remembered as one of Australia’s greatest ever Test cricket players. pic.twitter.com/SvRhe2u2z9

Marsh is one of WA’s greatest cricket products.
He played 96 Tests for Australia between 1970 and 1984, and was groundbreaking for his batting ability as a gloveman.
