‘Tracking as expected’: Health Minister believes WA is on track with modelling

Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson says the state is on track with the modelling for case numbers of COVID-19, as the state records 4535 infections.
Speaking with Oliver Peterson, Ms Sanderson, says we are expecting to head into our peak in mid-March.
“It will hopefully come down on the other side of that peak, towards the end of the month,” she said. “We are tracking as expected and we’re certainly responding according to that.”
The State Government’s modelling expects the peak to be around 10,000 daily cases.
“That should last around a week, although it’s hard to predict exactly and we expect that to be from around the 14th of March,” Ms Sanderson told Perth LIVE.
With strong restrictions covering the state, Ms Sanderson believes there will be a ‘stepping down approach’, rather than a complete scrapping of restrictions.
“It won’t be an immediate lifting of everything, but the fact is we still have a couple of weeks to play out,” she said.
