‘This was the most extraordinary Australian Open’: Rafa’s epic comeback

Rafael Nadal has made his stance for the greatest player of all time, passing Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in the race to 21 Grand Slam titles.
Defeating Daniil Medvedev 2-6, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5 in a five-set epic set, winning Nadal his second Australian Open.
6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker spoke to Tennis Commentatory Shane McInnes about the wild final and the Open at Melbourne Park.
“From the political stories to the actual success on the court, this was the most extraordinary Australian Open,” Shane McInnes told Parker.
Commenting on the crowd being a distraction, McInnes said: “I know traditionalists don’t like the booing or noisemaking between serves, but Rafa kept his head, Daniil Medvedev didn’t, and the rest is history.”
“There’s no doubt he’s the best of the next crop coming through, but until you can adjust to the crowd and keep your game in check, you’re going to lose more grand finals than you win.”
