The Russia-Ukraine war has turned in Ukraine’s favour, according to the Ukrainian Ambassador to Australia.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is mobilising army reservists and threatening the use of nuclear weapons.

But Ukrainian Ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, says the nuclear threat has had the opposite impact to what Putin intended.

“The threats … Putin is making, they are driving an opposite response because what they’re trying to achieve is they want to discourage friends and allies from sending more weapons, but actually I see more motivation to step up military support for Ukraine,” Mr Myroshnychenko told 6PR’s Liam Bartlett.

LIAM BARTLETT: “You think you genuinely are starting it win, do you?”

VASY MYROSHNYCHENKO: “Yes, absolutely.”
