Internationally acclaimed violinist Emily Sun has performed at Buckingham Palace for the Prince of Wales, the Royal Palace of Brussels, the Sydney Opera House, and the Tschaikovsky Great Hall in Moscow.

Now she’s in Perth for the first time.

The recipient of the 2018 ABC Young Performer of the Year joined Liam Bartlett in the 6PR Mornings studio to look back at her career and preview her performance at the Perth Concert Hall this weekend.

Originally from Sydney, the violinist explained why she still finds time to teach others.

“That’s is really important to me because that dialogue that you get teaching at a high level like playing the violin you’re discussions with the student yes it’s about music, but it’s about so much more than that,” she explained.

“It’s about art as a whole, it’s about life, it’s about everything.”

Ms Sun also said she is passionate about passing her knowledge on at a young age.

“What brings everyone together is the power of performance, to have everyone on stage together collectively in that moment sharing that energy,” she said.

“There’s nothing quite like it .”
