Survey sheds lights on bad WA parents behind the wheel

Parents have been urged to set good examples behind the wheel while driving with their kids in the car.
The RAC’s Young Driver Survey has revealed many have witnessed bad behaviour by their parents on the roads, an indictment given they often observe and pick up their road safety habits.
RAC external relations general manager Will Golsby told 6PR Breakfast host Gareth Parker that 30 per cent had seen their parents using their mobile phone without hands free.
“11 per cent of 17-21 year-olds suspected their parents drove while they suspected they were over the blood alcohol limit,” he told Parker.
“We know parents get under pressure, especially driving to school and things, but it’s important they set the right example to their kids, who often take up a lot of those habits.”
