Australian students’ reading, maths and science skills are at their worst level since international tests began.

Aussie kids are three and a half years behind Chinese students in some areas according to the results.

But Sue Thompson from the Australian Council for Educational Research says it’s not all bad news.

“One of the things that has happened is that a lot of countries have started to improve and we certainly haven’t,” Ms Thompson told 6PR Breakfast.

Steve and Baz asked the 6PR Breakfast listeners what’s not being taught now, that used to be taught in schools.
