Perth Scorchers all-rounder Andrew Tye says they are out to prove the experts wrong when they start their title defence on Monday night at the Furnace. 

The Scorchers have made the final in all of the four editions of the Big Bash League, winning the last two titles. 

Perth are rated as favourites according to some bookmakers, but commentators are generally not referring to them as a fancied team to take out BBL05. 

‘They do it every year and we’ve made every final, so we’re happy for them to write us off and us to come out and prove them wrong again this year,’ Tye said.
