Stan Grant has pulled out of a speaking engagement in Cairns after being warned by police it would potentially be dangerous for him to attend.

Mr Grant was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at the event, but instead delivered his presentation via videolink.

Entertainment reporter told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast it was a troubling indication of cultural conscience when police are warning identities to not attend events.

“I think it’s a very sad reflection of where we’re at where somebody is being given those sort of warnings,” Mr Ford said.
