West Coast NAB rising star nominee Dom Sheed has hailed the influence of Brownlow medallist Matt Priddis in his development. 

Both left footers and not the most fleet of foot, they also hail from Subiaco in the WAFL. 

Sheed earned the nomination with 26 possessions and a goal in the Eagles win against Adelaide. 

‘It’s something I’m working on (my pace),’ Sheed said. 

‘Matt Priddis always says to me ‘as long as you’re getting the footy and being smart, you don’t need pace.”

‘Ever since coming to West Coast, (Priddis) has been one of the main blokes helping me out.’
