On Monday, as tired and overworked fire fighters battled yet another blaze in the state’s south west, Murray-Wellington MLA Murray Cowper resorted to extreme measures to ensure they were fed and watered.

Mr Cowper said he attempted to contact Emergency Services Minister Joe Francis and the Department of Fire and Emergency Services to no avail, and resorted to calling Triple 0 to get food and water to the crews.

Mr Francis has told Gary Adshead on the 6PR Morning Program that Mr Cowper should not have tied up the emergency only number.
