Young WA man’s quest to improve indigenous health standards

A young West Australian man is the latest Madalah Scholarship recipient to visit Mornings with Gareth Parker, sharing his unique journey from a remote Pilbara community to study medicine at a Sydney university.

Madalah is a not-for-profit organisation that offers Secondary, Transition and Tertiary education scholarships for Indigenous students from remote and regional communities.

21 year old Yarlalu Thomas told Gareth, he’s now working on a project involving using 3D facial imaging to diagnose rare genetic disorders.
