Weekend catch-up won’t pay off your sleep debt

As many as 45% of Aussies may be getting inadequate sleep, but don’t think weekend catch up will make up for the hours you lost during the week.

A new study has show sleeping in doesn’t cancel out the negative effects of lack of sleep, including anxiety, substance use, weight gain and slow metabolism.

Dr Mark Howard is a respiratory and sleep physician at Austin Health, he walks us through the science, and what you can do to catch up on your zzzzzzs.
