WA represented in State of Origin

Millsy & Karl

A former Forrestfield Primary School student will be taking to the State of Origin stage in Sydney tonight when well-regarded referee Matt Cecchin officiates Game Two in Sydney.

Cecchin grew up in Perth and only moved to the east coast when the Western Reds folded but he wanted to continue his career as a referee in the NRL.

“I can’t promise that I’m not going to make mistakes tonight, I can’t promise that I’m going to have a great game but my integrity and the integrity of the other officials out there tonight, I can vouch for and always will,” he told Steve and Baz

Cecchin also spoke openly about his private life on the Breakfast show: “I came out in 2012 and it’s made absolutely not one bit of difference to my game, to my profession, to my friends.”
