Federal Member for O’Connor Rick Wilson is defending the live export industry, after Liberal colleagues announced plans to introduce a bill to ban it.

Former frontbencher Sussan Ley will introduce a private members bill to phase out exports to the Middle East on the back of recent footage again highlighting horrific conditions endured by animals onboard live export vessels.

Rick Wilson’s family has a sheep farm in Katanning and told Mornings with Gareth Parker, most people in the industry do the right thing.
