‘Very bad idea’ to legalise cannabis: Porter

Federal Attorney General Christian Porter expects Federal Police to continue to enforce Commonwealth cannabis laws in the Australian Capital Territory, despite the territory legalising cannabis for personal-use.

The ACT last night passed legislation allowing a person to possess up to 50 grams of cannabis, or two plants, from January 31 next year.

Mr Porter told Gareth Parker during their weekly chat, that it was ‘crazy’ for any jurisdiction to make it easier to access the drug.
