Unborn twin dies after delays and concern around border exemption
Oliver Peterson says he’s “disgusted” the border issue has had anything to do with loss of life in an emergency medical situation after an unborn twin died in NSW.
The twin’s mother mother was unable get approval to enter Queensland in time for emergency surgery.
The pregnant Ballina woman waited to be granted an exemption for surgery at the Gold Coast University Hospital 125km away, but ended up having to wait for 16 hours in Lismore for a flight to Sydney on Thursday.
