TikTok Australia has vowed the privacy of local app users is protected despite being owned by Chinese interests.

The app has been banned in some countries because of concerns information could be passed onto the Chinese Government.

However TikTok’s Australian general manager Lee Hunter told Oliver Peterson no user information is shared with any foreign Government.
