“They’ve had a lot of deaths on the job and they still haven’t bothered to change”: AMWU

The State Government has unveiled Australia’s first FIFO Code of Practice to encourage positive mental health outcomes for workers.

Not all stakeholders are happy, with some arguing it doesn’t go far enough.

Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union State Secretary Steve McCartney spoke to Oliver Peterson today about the announcement.

“What we’re going to be doing is making sure that all these companies that do FIFO are complying with the code.

“If they don’t, we’ll be putting the spotlight on them.”
