Today Ian Henschke, Chief Advocate for National Seniors Australia joined us today for his regular Perth LIVE segment.

He spoke about whether the sale of the family home should be exempt from the age pension means test.

“At the moment we have a lot of people who are asset rich. They live in a home that is worth quite a lot of money and they have trouble with the up keep of it.

“They want to move to a more suitable home (downsize), but won’t, because if they do they will lose the pension or part pension.”
