The individual winner of the WA Police Award of Excellence was heavily involved in the month long search for a missing grandfather.

The search ended in tragedy but Senior Sergeant Darryl Brandis was nominated for the award by Ian Collett’s family for the compassion and support he provided them during the search and afterwards.
