Police officer charged with Geraldton woman’s murder

A police officer has been charged with fatally shooting a woman in Geraldton.
Major crime division officers arrested the police officer at his Geraldton home this morning and brought him to Perth, where he has appeared in court charged with the murder of Joyce Clarke.
Ms Clarke was fatally shot in September last year, after reports she was threatening people with a knife.
Her death sparked protests among the indigenous community and promotes WA police to introduce body cameras to regional areas.
The officers identity has been suppressed over fears for his and his families safety.
He’ll appear in court again next month.
