Perth Royal Show staying put in Claremont

The Perth Royal Show is going nowhere and will remain at its Claremont home for the foreseeable future despite calls from the Mayor Jock Barker to have it moved.

Royal Agricultural Society President Paul Carter told Oly Peterson the show is about the traditions and bridging the country and city divide.

“We’re not even contemplating moving. We think we’re sustainable where we are. We love the fact that we are in the centre of our beautiful city.

“We bring the country and we connect those [farming] communities and we continue to connect those communities.”
