Pen Licence? How About A Digital Licence?

To combat and prepare our kids for the internet and cyber bullies, should we introduce a digital licence? Similar to the pen licence, kids could be required to sit a test in year 3 and again in year 7 to prove they have the skills to use the internet and do it safely.

Today Oliver Peterson spoke to child psychologist Michael Carr-Gregg about the letter he wrote to the Government calling for the test.

“No West Australian child should be able to to school with an internet connected device unless they have sat this digital licence.

“It will give them the skills, the knowledge and strategies to keep themselves safe.

“I think it’s as important as learning to swim or cross the road.”
