Medical cannabis access to get easier
The Australian Medical Association is welcoming reforms allowing GPs to prescribe medicinal cannabis meaning patients no longer need to see a specialist.
However if the patient is under the age of 16 or has a history of drug use they will be referred to a specialist.
AMA WA president Dr Andrew Miller says GPs are now better equipped to prescribe the drug, given they have access to more data than was previously available.
