Loophole allows agencies to access private metadata

Councils and small government agencies are among those reportedly using a loophole in data-retention laws to access the private metadata of millions of Australians.

Communications Alliance CEO, John Stanton told Mornings with Gareth Parker, the tough new data retention laws don’t seem to be doing their job if that sort of information is being accessed.
