Kennedy back kicking goals

Peter Vlahos & Jane Marwick

West Coast’s Coleman Medalist Josh Kennedy could be days away from kicking goals again with the forward and his coach both saying his return against Port Adelaide is likely.

Kennedy has not played since he injured his calf in the Round 11 loss to Greater Western Sydney, but says he has recovered and match fit.

“We’re looking at this weekend, which is pretty cool,” Kennedy told 6PR Breakfast.
“I’m pretty confident that I’ll be running around there on Sunday.”
“My sign off session was last Friday. We did a session that was equivalent to a game-like scenario so I got through that and I pulled up really well from it,” he added.

West Coast Eagles’ coach Adam Simpson also said Kennedy’s return is set for Sunday’s match.
“There’s probably going to be eight or nine players available that didn’t play last week” Adam Simpson told 6PR on Monday night; Kennedy was named along with Matt Priddis, Shannon Hurn and Mark LeCras.
