Jim Ryan presents the incredible story of the Catalpa Rescue. Jim is a direct descendant to Captain George Anthony, who sailed a whaling ship from america to Western Australia to rescue six Fenians.

In 1876 a daring rescue took place from the beach at Rockingham. Six Irish political prisoners, Fenians, escaped from Fremantle Prison to be whisked away on an American Whaling ship, the Catalpa.
