Household fees to be frozen

The State Government has unveiled a suite of measures aimed at helping the WA economy weather the coronavirus storm.

All increases in household fees and charges will be frozen until at least the end of the next financial year the first such freeze since 2004-05.

Eligible small businesses will receive a one-off grant of more than $17,000.

Treasurer Ben Wyatt says the emergency assistance payment will also double from $300 to $600.

Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA chief economist Aaron Morey spoke with Oliver Peterson.
