Michael Apeness has big shoes to fill this weekend when he is tipped to take on ruck duties for injured Aaron Sandilands when Fremantle travel to the MCG to face the Pies this weekend.

“It’s a great challenge for Michael, what he does during the pre season, he’s one of the hardest blokes on our list. He crashes packs, he takes good marks and he just competes and that’s all you want,” Brandon Matera told 6PR Breakfast.

Matera also updated us on being a new dad…. to a puppy. He’s still waking up in the middle of the night.
