Fly a drone? You’re going to need a licence.

From July this year, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) will require drone owners to get a “flyer’s licence” and register their drone.

The new rules will apply to people with a drone weighing over 250g. They will need to complete an online course and pay an annual fee that wold vary based on the size of the drone.

Jandakot Airport Community Aviation Consulting Group spokesperson Steve Klomp joined Oliver Peterson today to explain the new rules.
