Desperate calls for mandatory life jackets after another rock fishing death

There are renewed calls for lifejackets to be mandatory for rock fishermen, after a 30-year-old man drowned near West Cape Howe.

Sam Roth was swept off rocks while fishing on Monday afternoon, and his body was pulled from the water about three hours later.

Albany Sea Rescue operations coordinator Chris Johns told Mornings with Gareth Parker, we can’t allow these rock fishing deaths to keep happening, without doing something.
