“Bring Back The 30% Private Health Rebate” – Private Healthcare Australia

Private Healthcare Australia has proposed a number of key reforms to address the rising costs of healthcare and stem the movement of people to an already overburdened public health system.

These reforms will not only make private health more affordable for members but could deliver savings for areas of the Medicare system as well.

Today Oliver Peterson spoke to Private Healthcare Australia Chief Executive Dr Rachel David about the proposed changes.

“We’ve become acutely aware that people have been struggling with health fund premiums as they’ve been going up.

“But one thing that we struggle with, as well as the public hospital system, is that health costs in Australia and the world have been going up every year by over about 5% because of the aging population and new technology.”
