Latest NAPLAN results show a growing gap between boys and girls when it comes to writing skills.

National data shows boys in year nine have the writing ability of year seven students – with results showing an almost 10 year decline in the skill.

The Grattan Institute’s Peter Goss told Jane Marwick there are a number of factors behind the growing gap.
