Bennell could be back

Lisa Barnes & Geof Parry

Harley Bennell could finally be called up to the Fremantle team when they face Port Adelaide at Optus Stadium on Sunday.

The midfielder has only played two games for Fremantle since he was recruited in 2016, but a list of injuries have plagued Bennell. However, Fremantle coach Ross Lyon spent plenty of time with him on the training track and Brandon Matera says Bennell could get the call up.

“I think he is, he trained pretty well yesterday. The way he’s been moving the last two three weeks around the training track he’s definitely looking closer so it’s just a matter of time I reckon now,” Matera told 6PR Breakfast.
