Backlash from Hanson’s autism comments

The 6PR phone lines lit up responding to Pauline Hanson’s comments that children with autism shouldn’t be in mainstream classrooms.

“If the teacher and the assistant, the person working with the child with disability, work together, you can have amazing success. Not only with that child, but with the classroom,” one caller told Steve and Baz.

Dr Marita Falkmer from Curtin University’s School of Occupational Therapy and Social Work also spoke with 6PR Breakfast about the issue.
