Long-time Perth retailer Tony Barlow has closed his Platinum Menswear store in the CBD, blaming the current trend away from bricks and mortar stores, and a slowdown in city activity.

Committee for Perth chief executive Marion Fulker says the days of the CBD being the premier shopping spot appear to have passed.

Tony Barlow Menswear, which is not owned by Mr Barlow, is not affected.
